4 women were assigned to work together on a project for a course at Nova Southwestern University for our EdD in Instructional Technology and Distance Education. We each took different tasks that worked with our personal strengths and skills.
... later we were all in another class together and were assigned weekly quizes. We were all struggling, as many of our other classmates. In our discussion board, proposed that we would create a study group to conquer these quizes. Because of my initiation, we were able to succeed with the quizes and and the course.
...the group evolved. As doctoral students, were assigned a cohort. However, this cohort that we created was the most impactful. As we moved from the initial courses to other courses, and our dissertations, we worked on all of that together.
---Although we no longer meet on a regular schedule, we are still great friends and support each other through whatever issue we are dealing with, whether it be professional, mentally, psychological, spiritual, or personal.
We are a community of intelligent women over 50 who have endured a doctoral program, the pandemic, and continue to support each other for over 9 years.
I would not be the woman I am today with out them, pursuing my dreams.
